Allantoin setzt sich aus Glyoxylsäure und Harnstoff zusammen. Es kommt beispielsweise in Beinwell vor. Allantoin fördert die Abheilung von Wunden und löst Hornhautschuppen. Es zieht in tiere Hautschichten ein als andere Inhaltsstoffe. Im Schlepptau können andere Wirktstoffe dann auch tiefer in die Haut eindringen.
