Urea (Harnstoff)

Harnstoff (Urea) ist an sich weiß, geruchlos, ungiftig und hygienisch unbedenklich. Er löst sich gut in Wasser. Harnstoff hat es in die Liste von unentbehrlichen Arzneimitteln geschafft, die die Weltgesundheitsorganisation führt – und zwar, weil er in Cremes oder Salben schuppenlösend wirkt und der Haut eine Portion Feuchtigkeit spendiert, wenn sie trocken und rissig ist.

Harnstoff ist übrigens nicht zu verwechseln mit Harnsäure.
